Sharing the "Main Bedroom Suite" from our beautiful #GHModernMuse home
As often it does, this home refresh began in one room and once we started the design process, quickly spread to most of the main floor of this stunning house resulting in a beautiful bedroom refresh and a full remodel of their kitchen, great room, dining room and entry. We are taking a closer look today with where it all began in the Main Bedroom Suite of our #GHModernMuse.
Our client relayed her style goals for this bedroom to Gatehouse Designer Rachel and Stephanie to be pretty, feminine, with a hint of glam details and shades of pink. Her wish list included a bedding refresh, a comfortable and pretty seating area to a large and previously unused area of the room, a desk space for her to work on her laptop by the large sunny windows, and an end of bed bench. Our design team Steph and Rachel went to work to help achieve these goals and create a dreamy bedroom suite that she would love to spend time in and a better reflection of her lovely, classic style.
"Pink is a beautiful color, because it is one of the colors that the sun makes at twilight and in the dawns." -C.Joybell C.

First our Gatehouse designers started by selecting a new paint color, a warm neutral with a subtle pink undertone. They knew painting the walls would make the biggest impact in the room to warm it up, and add that pretty pink that everyone will feel good spending time in, as well as adding a relaxing tone to the surrounding walls.
The Furniture and Space Planning phase:
The clients already had a great bed, nightstands and dresser that they wanted to keep and our design team set out to refresh it all with new bedding, tall glass lamps and other nightstand accessories for an instant update. The team started this project with a space plan to include their existing furniture while maximizing the room flow and created two purposeful spaces.
1. The sleeping zone with their king size bed, nightstands and dresser and bench.
2. A cozy yet pretty seating area in front of the grand windows at the other
end of the room.
Next step was to source the upholstery for the seating and a statement end of bed bench "We wanted to add extra depth of color to the room by designing one of our favorite LEE upholstered benches in a blackberry leather and adding a reverse leather band along the base to add interest and texture without taking away from the color" -Project Designer Rachel

"We centered the new seating area, including a large, comfy, sofa dressed in a soft and pretty creamy white fabric and a beautiful pair of statement chairs in two tones of soft pink leather and fabric to anchor the other end of the room and draw you over to this new space" designer Stephanie added. The co-designers then completed this space with a tall glass front cabinet that would both add balance to the room and a place for her to display her favorite family photos, books and other collectibles. To finish off the room, they added new and dramatic long drapery panels, refreshed her nightstand styling with new accessories that better fit the scale and overall look of her new room and furniture, and filled the walls intentionally with great art and mirrors that polished the completed room design.
